Textile Technician / Seamster
Job Location: Tottenham, N17
Pixipixel are looking for a Textile Technician / Seamster to join our team based in Tottenham to help with the maintenance of our textile materials.
Key responsibilities:
Repairing a variety of textile materials
Stitching of barcodes and company labels on to stock
Prepping and scanning of textiles for client orders
Inspection and cleaning of textiles returned to site
General stock maintenance
Ensuring working areas are kept clean, organised and clear of any hazards
Pixipixel is an independent rental house supplying camera and lighting equipment for film, television, documentary, commercial and music video productions. A section of the accessories are textile materials which are used to control, soften and model the light. These materials range from 4ft x 4ft to 20ft x 20ft sheets which are attached to frames. A vital part of our operation is the inspection, cleaning and repairing of these materials.
Skills and experience:
As a Textile Technician for Pixipixel, you will be enthusiastic and hard-working with excellent attention to detail
You will have an understanding of fabrics, textiles and sewing techniques, along with the ability to operate sewing machines
Prior experience working within a similar role
PC proficiency to include Outlook, Word and Excel
About the role:
This is a part-time position. Flexible hours are available, and we are looking for someone to work 20-24hrs per week across 3 or 4 days (Mon-Fri).
Pixipixel is under a 10 minutes’ walk from Meridian Water station, which has direct links to Tottenham Hale and Stratford stations.
